Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the CBT take?

Automatic vs manual CBT bike – does it matter?

CBT is usually a full day. The finish time depends on the group and your progress, but plan to be with us for the whole day.

No - once you pass the CBT you can ride a manual or automatic motorcycle up to 125cc.

What should I wear?

Do I get my certificate on the day?

Wear sturdy trousers (no shorts), a long-sleeved top or jacket, and boots that cover your ankles (no trainers). Dress for the weather – it can feel colder on the bike. We provide a helmet, jacket and gloves if you don’t have your own.

If you reach the required standard, you’ll get your CBT certificate (DL196) on the same day. If you need more training, we’ll explain the next steps and any additional charges for future sessions.

Do I pay again if I fail?

Is a provisional licence OK?

If you do not complete the course, further training will be required at a discounted rate.

Yes, you must have a valid UK provisional or full photocard licence.

Do I need to know the rules of the road?

Do I need to bring my own bike?

Yes, a basic understanding of the Highway Code is essential for the road portion.

No, we provide the bike for your training.

Can I still do CBT if I’ve never ridden before?

How many people are in a CBT group?

Absolutely, most of our students are complete beginners and our instructors will guide you through every step.

We keep groups small with a maximum of four students to ensure you get plenty of personal attention.

Will I ride on real roads?

Where are you based?

Yes, once you have mastered the basics on our private site, you will complete at least two hours of on-road training.

CBT and DAS training in Ewell, and Module 1 and Module 2 test sessions in Mitcham.

What happens if I cannot make my course?

How do I know my size for a helmet and gloves?

Failure to attend your course without prior notice will result in the loss of your deposit. If you need to cancel, reschedule, or postpone your booking, we require a minimum of 4 working days’ notice for CBT courses and 14 days’ notice for DAS courses to avoid any charges.

Don’t worry if you’re unsure about sizing — we’ve got you covered. We provide a full range of helmet and glove sizes on-site, and our team will help you find the correct fit before your training begins, ensuring you’re safe and comfortable throughout your session.

When do gift vouchers expire?

Are gift vouchers refundable?

Gift vouchers are valid for 6 months from the date of purchase. The course must be booked and started within this period.

Gift vouchers are non-refundable. However, they can be transferred to another rider, as long as the voucher is still within its 6-month validity period.
